Power sterring problem

On my 2004 EXP ST, I have a weird problem. If I accelarate fast and hard while making a turn even a slight lane cahnge turn...The steering wheel locks up...It seems that the power sterring pump looses all it power. If I let off for a brief second the wheel turns again...

This morning I made a lane change and had to dive right around two cars and then back left...Well I hammered the gas and started to turn right..Then when i wantd to straighted out..The sterring did nto responded...

I know this is not a mustang but I worry that there maybe a problem with my PS Pump.

Have you checked the belt for slippage? Does it make any noise?

No belt slippage. The belt has about 50K on it. There is no noise and it only does it when I am accelerating hard and turning at the same time. I looked at the belt and it looks in good condition still.
