Power Window Jams

On Passenger side front, the window goes down no problem, but if you put it all the way down, sometimes the gears get jammed and the window will not go up (usually right before it's going to rain, or is raining - haha). If you don't put the window all the way down, you do not have this problem. Is there a stop somewhere that could be adjusted to stop the window just before it goes too far or.....? Any suggestions would be appreciated..

there's no adjustment, but there are plastic "beans" between the window motor and gear that can be replaced (Dorman part). start by taking the door apart to see what's actually happening. it could be the regulator gear is broken.

Thanks for the reply, however I have replaced the plastic beans with aluminum ones and the gears are fine. The gears just get jammed when the window bottoms out. I get them un-jammed easy by taking door panel off and loosening the motor, tighten it back up and it works, but it's a pain....

If there's nothing wrong with the regulator, perhaps the window is going down into the door too far. Although I've been inside the doors many times, I've never noticed what stops the glass/regulator when it's in it's full down position. On some of the classic Fords I've worked on, with power windows, there were rubber blocks glued to the bottom of the inner door. When that window is down, does it appear to be any lower into the door than the window on the other front door? I'm thinking that perhaps the regulator is getting over-extended and then the motor can't overcome it to lift it again. This may be due to the regulator's joint just being worn out.
