Hi. I am having problems with windows not wanting to work when it is cold. What is the issue and how do I fix it? I have searched the forums and I haven't seen this problem addressed when it seems to be caused by cold temps. Thanks very much for any insight anyone can give.

It is more than likely a switch or connection that is loosing contact when things contract from the cold. You need to diagnose this with a volt meter when it's not working. It shouldn't be that hard to find with a wiring diagram

is it frozen in the track ??
did you roll it down after a car wash ?
does it even try to go down?
could be the felt that holds the window from rattling,, it can get wet and than the window won't open,, or it opens really slowly,, mine do that when it is -5 or colder,,
try warming it a bit with a hair dryer, and see if that helps,,

grease on the rack and pinion turns to a wax like compound when it gets cold. i've had to take all of mine apart at some point in time to clean the grunk out and apply new grease. now i'm afraid to let my dog hang his head out he window 'cause i goes up so fast he might loose his nose.
you may get lucky by just removing the door panel and spraying with releaseal or wd40. if that fails then you gotta remove the motor or crank unit. be careful you support the window when it is up and you have your hands inside the door panel. don't ask how i discovered this........ouchie. don't forget to lube all the lock components when you have the door panel off.

keep smilin..............t

Which would would bre best to apply, the original grease, (which I presume I can get at the stealership) or the two products you mentioned?
Thanks for the help!
