Velodyne.

velodyne or definitive audio

i installed a theater system in my parents vacation home. sony hdtv, progressive scan dvd, denon dts receiver.
i picked out definitive audio for the satellites and sub.
i convinced my dad to get the 15" sub, as this room is on the 2nd floor of the house with oak floors and 24' vauted tongue and groove ceilings.
it sounds amazing. a 10" or 12" in the same space would not have done as well. the 15 is more than enough, which makes for perfect:D

i can vouch for Velodyne. neighbor has one that shakes MY windows! if you are on a budget, get either an Acoustic Research or Cerwin Vega. i have a friend that has the 15" Vega, and it is plain awesome for a cheap powered sub.

i am also in the market, i have an older model Advent that just went out again, and it has been in the shop twice already. its only 120watt with a 10", and im not gonna spend any more money on it. i want something bigger.

terdrocket, what is your price range?

Has anybody heard of Dahlquist? They have real good prices on there powered subs, and I have e-mailed about 5 people that have bought them and they are very impressed with the sub.It comes in 12 or 15 and it is a down firing sub.
