My 2000 4.0 shoc has a powering leak. It seems to come from where the power steering reservoir and pump meet. do I have to replace the pump and Reservoir or just replace O-rings? BTW the reservoir seems to be loose.

I've never removed the plastic reservoir from a PS pump, but there must be an O-ring seal between the pump and the reservoir (assuming that's where it;s leaking from).

Sounds like a substantial P/S leak. Not saying you would, but refrain from using ANY stop leak product. Sometimes they work, but can cause more damage in the long run. Whether it's P/S, A/C, cooling system, engine oil, etc., fix it the right way. JMO

I've never had any of that P/S leak sealant work, especially on a vehicle with rack & pinion steering.

I'd pull the reservoir off and see what size the O-ring is, if that's what's leaking. If it's not something huge, Ace Hardware may have the size needed. O'Reilly also has a pretty good O-ring assortment box. There shouldn't be anything special about the material that O-ring is made out of.

Heck no stop leak ewww lol
I checked Rockauto and don't see that seal sold separately, does come with a new reservoir if this is the type you have (looks odd to me, ??).

Yes that's it I checked AutoZone and the have a refurbished pump for 45 plus tax. Also checked rockauto about the same price not including shipping. I think its better to ne safe and replace the pump I thought the pump was alot more expensive.

Yeah replacing the pump is an option, though this could be a little like brake repair that when you go to take one part off, you find the upstream part (in this case the PS hoses) are also shot and don't like being moved during the pump swap so you end up replacing them too... but then, it's a sign they were due for replacement too.
