Powerstroke into an Explorer?

I think it would definitely be do-able. You would need a lot more than Just the engine though.

I think the 8.8", 31spline rear-end should hold up too....it would be marginal though..

Nah, someone ruined it before I made that comment.

Wife friendly tow vehicle

This is very interesting. I tow a 7000# trailer with an '07 Sport Trac and, although I love the platform, am very displeased with the wheezing anemic little 4.6 3V getting 6 MPG.

For the short term I'll probably just shore things up a little with the after-market, but this could be something to start setting parts aside to do later.

why not just trade up to a PSD F250?

why not just trade up to a PSD F250?

i had a psd f-350, sold it, and used the money as a down payment on the 'sploder so my wife would have something to drive. life's compromises are tough...

Because then there is no "love" and "effort" put into the vehicle, just plenty of $$ ;)

not true. You can upgrade turbos and stuff.

and IMO the new Super Duties are friggin gorgeous

*BUMP*
So has anyone tried the 4.5L PSD swap yet? Well, done the swap, without going into poem or bursting into song? ;)
