Powertraxx No-Slip Locker

I called Richmond and asked the diffeence between the "Lock-Rite" and the Powertrax. He said dont even consider the lock rite. The powertrax was hands the best locker between the 2 of them.

I have installed both Lock Right and the No Slip. I had a Lock Right in my old Cherokee when I did a Explorer 8.8 swap. It wasn't bad but you could feel it on corners from stop signs. And when you accelerated hard it would make the rear axle steer you a little. Was awesome off road. The No Slip is a good setup but there two down falls in my opinion, one the price(for a few dollars more you can get a Detroit Truetrac full carrier), two install is not easy. There are 16 little springs that push against the cross pin that fall out easily when installing and really can make you loose your patience. No Slip is not a locker it is gear driven limited slip that works well to give you excellent traction and still be very street friendly.

My advice is get a Detroit Truetrac and if you need help installing I can walk you through it. Pretty simple. The Truetrac is much stronger then the No Slip since it replaces your carrier. If you wanna take a road trip to Denver I will even help you install it.

I've heard good things about the no-slip, primarily that it's almost transparent when used in a daily driver. Mine's arriving tomorrow so hopefully I'll have some sort of review soon.

Awesome! Post results of how it does for you both on the street and off! :D

yeah you guys most certainly rock; maybe in the next month or two i can pick some up, apologizes if this seems like a stolen thread but I just bought some gears today and want to know if a novice can install them or should a professional?? i'd love to learn how but the guy i talked to at 4wheel parts says i shouldn't try.

ran mine for many years with 35's and 3.73's after a few good trips with the 36's and 5.13's it started giving up thus my nickname click click boom! would buy another one but not for severe use or that big of tire and gear combo!

35's and 3.73's must have felt like you were dragging a trailer of cement blocks.

that sounds crazy! My truck would have driven itself off the cliff if i tried to run anything near that.
