im trying to decide wether or not to make a cusom pre runner suspention for my mounty or to buy the superlift kit and make it a trail boss. if i did the pre runner it would be two wheel drive, if i made the trail boss it would be four with an atlas transfer case. its a big decision and im not sure what to do , i live in eastern mass and ether way its got to be getting about 500 hp with a crate engine swap and a new tranny. the only obsticle i have is saving the money and making the decision. icant wait to get started on it

500HP? Daaayyuumm! Go with a 4 wheel drive "pre runner"

I'm with RiverRat... I would go for the 4x4 pre-runner set up. You get to go fast - and be competent with the off road stuff that you are going to find.

I have built a couple of rides with the 4x4 pre-runner type mentality - and it works...

You want long travel compliant suspension - great shocks - lots of power - tires that can make the full travel without hitting or rubbing - sway bars like those Currie sells - and lots of cahoneys...

My F 150 had a 500 HP 390, was running 38's and had 85 MPH in low range... It was VERY fast, and loved to jump. Sort of scared everyone that rode with me though. They just didn't get power slides in 4x4 at 75 MPH, cross-steered, full crank... They were always worried that we were gonna die...
