I've been looking at CarID.com for some time to buy some parts for my EX but as I did some research, the company had questionable reviews. The ratings were VERY distant from each other, some said they had a great experience while others ranted about their terrible service.

Has anybody bought from CarID.com?
I'm probably gonna use JC Whitney instead unless there's a better store you can recommend.

rockauto, amazon...

rockauto, amazon...

I use rockauto to find part numbers and then see if it's cheaper on amazon. Order from whichever is cheaper since I've had great experience with both. Just don't rely on amazon for correct part identification or accurate part pictures.

Rock Auto has always come through for me. eBay stores are good but make sure you ID what part you need first and watch shipping charges. I bought a brand new complete exhaust system from Amazon for close to 100 less than I could find it anywhere else.

I have used RockAuto, but many times it is hard to beat the prices on Advance Auto online. If doing a project with lots of parts, a lot of time Rock Auto will end up with multiple shipping points and add to the costs. At Advance Auto, if over a certain amount (like $100), the shipping is free and I usually always find a 30% or 40% off coupon code online. I ordered brake pads and rotors from them this past week and they beat RockAuto by about $20 because of the Advance Auto 30% coupon code discount and the shipping difference (free with Advance Auto and over $20 with RockAuto. I just make sure I feel comfortable with the quality/manufacturer of the parts when I buy from them.
At RockAuto, you can pick from multiple manufacturers and sometimes they practically give stuff away with their wholesaler closeout items. Unfortunately, I have had to return two parts to RockAuto over time as they were not from the manufacturer I had ordered. When I called them, they immediately shipped me the correct part however, and they said just keep the old part, hard to beat if unless you really needed the correct part that day. Just made me wonderthough how often they do this since it has happened to me twice.

I love the coupon trick! When I need something fast and reasonably priced I go to them, otherwise rockauto has been great. I've tried auto parts warehouse and they shipped my order quickly but were a little more pricey than rockauto.

For a few online items, Rockauto using the 5% EF code

If I need it faster I use Amazon (Prime with free 2nd day shipping). Using the right CC and buying gift cards first I can save 6% (basically, tax) plus get fuel points. On my last $500 order from Amazon I saved $60 in fuel plus another $30 from the CC

I started to check Advanced for things I'm not in a hurry for as that coupon method seems like something that will help. . Especially since as it was already mentioned, RockAuto charges even more shipping when items come from different warehouses..

I use Advance Auto codes (from retailmenot.com) and select "pick up in store" method often. Especially when I am not sure about the part.
I can return them free of charge - not the same with other online retailers.

Live and die by rock auto. Never had an issue

I run a body shop and installed 2 different items that were purchased by the customer. Quality was poor, fit was nearly impossible. When I can wait, I always buy from Rockauto. Never a problem. I now refuse all body kit requests. You never know how long it will take.

Amazon.com is the best.

I love the selection on rockauto.com and like others use amazon to double check prices. Crunchy is right about large rockauto orders having to ship from multiple points which increases the shipping. I just did and $1000 parts order and got everything from rockauto and amazon
