I got an estimate for 155 bux for a tint on all the windows, even the driver and passenger windows (ya I know its illegal). Its for any percent tint I want, I'm gettin limo in the back and a light shade in the front, am I getting hosed here? Called around and one place gave me a price of 135 but they seem shady as hell so I don't trust them, I'd rather pay the extra 20 and have it last! But ya, am I gettin hosed on the price?

thats a pretty good price... i paid 180 on my last x.. and the best if found is 160.. but they didnt seem as trustworthy... i say go for the 155

oh wait.. i forgot.. u have a sport, you have less surface area than a 4door x.. so i guess that price is about right.

thats a good price. and it depends on state, but tinting the front windows is ok, but only to a point.

I got my 98 sport tinted 14% with a lifetime warranty for $99 in MD. It is a perfect match with the back three windows.

"no tint on the front windows is good tint" I quote a cop that pulled my friend over, so ya, tinting the front windows is illegal. But I'm still puttin a light tint on it, it should look good, limo all around and light in the front.

i juss paid 219 yesterday to get mine tinted (got it scheduled for next weds to get done) thats for my 4door. very good place, know people who've got their windows tinted there.

i got
35% tint front 2 windows
5% limo back 7 windows (the little windows next to the big ones in the back doors count as a window ... heh)

i got quoted $60, $75 and $100 for the front 2 on mine...havent done it yet though.

Well I just got the car back fully tinted, looks great except that there are a few streaks and bubbles but the guy told me that they were normal and would go away in about 2 days, is this true? Anyone have this experience?

NOT NORMAL!

Same deal with mine..
First off i paid 100 bucks just to get my 2 front windows tinted w/ 30% tint. Which seemed high for just 2 friggin windows.. anyways.
I live in two places (oregon for school and cali for summers) I had the tint done like 4 days before i left for california for the summer (this summer).. When i picked up the car it looked great.. but close inspection showed small bubbles and a dark streak towards the bottom of one of the windows. He assure me that was normal and window tinting had to cure. and suggested i give it 4 days.. Well i had to leave for california.

Well! that was JUNE! its now almost September! AND THE BUBBLES ARE STILL IN THE FRIGGIN TINT. and so is the damn streak! Ive talked to a few buddies of mine from work- and they have connections in window tinting.. and i asked them about the bubbles and the streak.
BUBBLES - If the tint was done in a clean shop and windows were cleaned properly initially and the tint applied carefully no bubbles should have been left in the tint in the first place. IF bubbles are left he said some shops will ***** them with a pin at which point they squeegee them out. So NO there is no curing time for window tint.
The streak he said was an imperfection in the tinting film- not uncommon- but should have been noticed before it was applied- or if noticed after the shop should have redone the window with different tint film.

ALL in ALL- my tint came with a lifetime warrenty for imperfections and such- so ill be paying them a visit in a few weeks when i start school again. The shop probablyt told me to wait a few days knowing i would be back till end of summer- that way they didnt have to deal with it until later.

SO i say wait your 2 days.. and when nothing gets better- head one down and have em fix it.

ooh and no im not trying to freak you out- Some of my bubbles did go away. but some are still there.. and your tint shop should be more than happy to re-tint them.
Just dont let them trail you along for a month telling u the stuff will fade.

4 Door - $220.

Good luck!
