My car just overheated yesterday. I flushed the coolent system to change the therm. and then forgot to put coolent back in before I took it on a drive. I did however have water in it- it was full of water. It didn't overheat until I left about the 3rd store I was going to, though. I promptly stopped at the gas station and put 50/50 in it after letting it sit there and cool for about 20 min. Until it got cooled it smoked a little bit and there was a whinning sound. I was told the whining sound was actually good- that meant there isnt a hole.:D

Anyway, my question is this morning I got in the car and it started just fine. I drove to a store less than 1 mile from my house and when I came out the car wouldn't start. It sounded like it was trying to turn over, but wasn't getting gas. The 2nd to last time I tried to start it it sounded like it was going to "catch" (im sure thats not the technical term...) but it would kind of start for a second and then stall. I called my dad and he came and got it started right away. He said you he just gave it gas when he was trying to start it. On my way to the station the gauge for heat didn't even hit "C" (it was below it) then after he got it started and I was driving back it went from below "C" to a little over the middle. My gauge doesn't have numbers so I have no way of knowing what temp it was actually at. Keep in mind, I had to drive under a mile.

I know I need to replace my EGR valve (which will be done tonight!) and my camshaft position sensor. Could either of these things be causing this problem?

On a side note, when it is running it just drives rough. Not bad, but just not very smooth.

i was afraid of that. where do I put it?
