On my 99 Sport, the window button does not push all the way in. Its like the spring tension is set super high. The latch does open upon depressing the button and will shut when I close the window but I cannot lock the latch (I have power locks). Any ideas what would be involved in replacing or fixing the latch?

The problem occured after I took it to the stealership to repair the latch because the button would not pop out after I pressed it unless. It would only pop out after I hit the power locks open.

I never took it back to the stealership because I was too lazy and in no mood to be without my SUV for a week. These guys are either super buzy or super lazy.

If you want something done right I believe that you should do it yourself that is why I am asking this question.

I had this happen to me when I first got my X... I will have to pull the inside panel off again to remember exactly what I did to fix it... I think it was an arm that stuck out over the button... that arm releases the latch... If that arm gets bent forward from useage or the button being beat on too much, it won't release the latch... In your case, it seems to be the other way around... I guess they replaced the button, and bent the arm in too much... OR they used the wrong button and it is keeping the latch arm from allowing the system to lock... I will take a pic of mine and email it to you since I can't post anything (I just don't know how, sorry!) I would say you could just slowly push on the button until it goes in... This will bend the arm to the correct position... BUT PLEASE ALLOW ME TO MAKE SURE MY MEMORY IS CORRECT ON THIS ISSUE...
