Hi!!! I'm having a probelm with my 02 Explorer. I've recently noticed that with the colder weather setting in in Ohio that my Truck has been acting strangely when backing up after sitting. The front ends seems to make a grinding or mild clunking noise when backing out. Once I get to work (about a 5 mile drive) I try backing up again and it no longer makes the noise. I also noticed that it does not make the noise whrn I put the truck in the garage for the night. At first I shrugged this off as rusting of the rotors but it seems a bit extreme for this this. Anyone have any ideas or suggestion???? Thanks!!!

Is it 4x4? I would suggest have the differential fluids changed. I was having a little binding in mine, mostly when turing sharply at low speed, but after flushing the differentials, as well as transfer case, problem cleared up totally.
