My factory door speakers have been blown since my sister drove the Explorer I have now. I finally ordered new Pioneer 6x8's and got them today.
I have noticed that the right front speaker hasnt made much noise in awhile, and the right rear has made some sound but was weak and rattled badly. Today we started working on replacing the two rear speakers. We touched the speakers wires to the current wiring in the Explorer, without clamping them together to make sure it would work. The problem is it doesnt seem to be getting much in the way of power. With the factory cassette/radio head unit, it has to be adjusted to the right rear and 3/4's of the way up to barely be able to hear any sound.
Are the right front and right rear on the same circuit? Does this sound like problem in the wiring harness of the explorer?
Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Any ideas as to why I am hardly getting any sound from the new speaker?
I am new to car audio, so this may be a stupid question, but any thoughts would be appreciated,
Denny
