Problems: ABS Pump, Trans all do to 31"s
Hello. I have some problems with my truck as the title says. I went to the ford deallership because i had an ABS light on and my O/D light would blink ocasionally. When it would blink the trans would shift really hard, but when it stoped blinking it would run normal. They read the computer and it came up with code P0741. I did research on the site and most people say it is their torque converter clutch solenoid (TCCS). I asked the dealler if he had checked that out and he said he already did. But he never opened up the trans pan to check it out. Is it possible to check the solenoid with out taking off the pan? The deallership said that they had checked it and the code read up internal mechanical failure. The guy at ford said he would have to open the trans up completely to figure out what was wrong with it and since it is being opened up i might as well rebuild the soft parts. Regarding the ABS light staying on he told me it was my ABS Pump that was blown. A couple of days pass with no work done to my truck yet and i call up and speak with the "Tech". He then tells me my trans is shot due to my tires. I have 31/10.5/15x8 BF's. That is also the cause of my ABS Pump to fail. He said the increased tire size is throwing off the computer by messing with the transmissions shifting points. The ABS is broken because of the same reason (some what), he got really technical with all the BS. To sum it all up.
Is it possible to check the (TCCS) with out removing the trans pan?
Could my increased tire size influence the shifting points of my transmission?
Is their any way i can adjust my computer to change the shift points or read what my shift point are at right now?
Would the tires effect my ABS Pump?
I know this is alot to ask for but if anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appretiated. Thanks....
