After sitting for over a year, going on a year and a half it's time to bring her back! So I need help from the cough older cough guys on the forum with maintenance steps I need to perform to get her back road worthy. I am still in automotive school, so I'm going to bring it into the shop for a week or R&R where I'm basically going to replace as many fluids as possible. This is what I'm going to do so far but I'd like some more input as to what I should do and problems I'm probably going to run into.

-Oil change
-Fuel filter
-Air filter
-PCV valve
-inspect vacuum lines for cracks
-remove/clean various sensors
-inspect brakes
-inspect front suspension

And also, how much of an issue will dry rot on the tires be? I drove it back in March/April from Augusta to Statesboro which is about 100 miles for me and it ran decent, kept wanting to shut down though at idle which I take is a bad gasoline sign (had 1/4 tank of bad gas, we added a bottle of Heet, Lucas Fuel Injector Cleaner, and another 1/4 tank of 93 octane), but if the tires look okay (no flat spots from what I can tell) they SHOULD be fine right?

you gonna change your axle fluids and tranny fluids? use all full synthetic fluids?

dry rot you would just have to look at them, i know if its in the tread you have a lil while, on the sides... no so much time tho.

Clean.your MAF. Mine wasn't working properly for the longest time. It got to the point where it fell on its face with any throttle over 25%, making it impossible to pass.

denatured alcohol works best for that, there is a walk through i believe, hit search to find it. i did that a long time ago and improved my performance, its a simple task everyone should do if havent done it ever

I ended up getting a junk yard one from another 94. The cleaning helped a little, but it was shot.

there is certain parts i dont like to get from junkyards, something might be wrong w/ them to and not fix the problem.

It was only 5$. Running on a computer from the same truck. It just so happens that both parts were done

Sometimes after siting & not running for long periods of time, seals can dry/shrink up and things tend to leak. Keep an eye out on the transmission, engine, power steering system, pinion seals, and the likes.

Check all your wires under the hood for damage from rodents who love to nest under the hood, and use wiring to build with.

Clean the blower motor area and the blower relay area out with a shop vac. This is a fire prevention tip ;)

Thanks for the tips guys!

It seemed to run okay a few months ago, just needs some maintenance to get it back to a safe vehicle lol

Definitely gonna flush the brake fluid probably a month into driving it, I've been collecting parts to COMPLETELY facelift the brakes.

Transmission fluid flush will probably come up, but not until probably january or february, this transmission only has about 72k miles on it but it IS on the lists of to-do, it was shifting perfect a few months ago so I may just let it warm up, drive it, and see what the fluid looks like.

Appreciate the help though!
