How long are the shackles?

there 9'' bolt to bolt, theres about 1 1/4'' distance from the top to the bolt and 3/4 (less then i wanted) from the bottom to the bolt. 9'' bolt to bolt gave me exactly 2'' of lift

nice x u got there

nice x u got there

thanks, not bad for 400 bucks ! Ive had 9 jeeps in the past, theres definitly pro's and con's of going to an explorer, overall i like it so far and it's a good platfrom to build from. I still have to work out some bugs though.

did the brown wire mod today.. did a few burnouts to make sure it works!

thanks to Gijoecam for his writeup:thumbsup:

Nice way to spend $400.

Your leaf is already looking pretty bad. I'd reconsider those shackles or get new leafs. Probably get new leafs anyway; the end shouldn't be pointing toward the ground. The shackles are only going to make it worse.

the shackles needed to be done regaurdless, the tin factory ones rotted and one broke. I plan on doing SOA and a SAS, when i do so i will get new leafs, probably in the summer.

I also just did my first oil change on it and changed the t-case fluid to inspect it due to my 4wheel lights flashing and engine light coming on.

Looking at the sensors on my t-case i believe i have to split the case apart to change them if on of thems bad, correct?

well had a good productive weekend of wrenching and some much needed TLC to jeepeater ( might change my project name to slowpoke, since my works been so slow havnt had much money to dump into her..)

-I finally put a new muffler on it, just a imco nothing fancy.
-Did both lower ball joints
-Spark plugs, the front one on the drivers side and the rear on the passenger side are a PITFA!
-Removed the rear swaybar in preperation of the SOA i plan to do shortly, plus the links and bushings were facked anyways
-Removed the lateral or quad or 5th shock or whatever its called, it was sized

Next weekend will be both diff fluid changes and taking off the running boards, im expecting alot of rot.

oh and also, since i did the brown wire mod my check engine light has not come back on. it'd come on every other day, id unhooke the battery and it'd be back on 2 days later, never got it scanned but it leads me to believe its a sensor in the tcase. either way, no check engine light! :)

well fellas, this will be my last post..i traded my ex for a jeep. kinda ironic cause my project name was jeepeater...lol.

Either way, this was amazing forum to get info from and idears.. everyone was super nice and informative. theres some amazing rigs on here and some truely talented wrenchs here.

i wish you all luck

take care,

Jeepeater.
