I have a 05 Ex. with the advance track stuff.. What is the proper sequence of events to put this thing in 4 low. Every time I need it it seems like I do some thing different to get it to engage. I thought it was just hold 4x4 low while in park but that just doesn't work. Can anyone tell me how to do it the right way going into low and back out. I drove how from a fire call in low last night. almost 25 miles at 20 mph kinda sucks..Thanks for the help guys..

Ok just went outside and tried it. The 4x4 low light blinks but does not go into low.. any ideas?

Stopped - so driveshafts are not moving.
In neutral - so input to transfer case is unloaded and free to move.
Foot on brake - so controller interlock will allow t-case to shift.

If all three conditions are met, it should go into Low Range when selected. Light blinking means either it refuses because it detects one of those conditions is false, or there is a problem with the shift motor (or position switches on shift motor).

Mine is occasionally finicky also. I do "off-road" in mine a bit, mostly trail-riding. I've found if mine won't lock in (or disengage) I need to let it roll forwards or backwards just a bit in neutral. Let it come to a stop, then try the button again. Sometimes the light will blink for ~60 seconds, it can take a while.

What was so bad about having a lever? Slide, Clunk... 4 Low

I think it is just the delay. If i hold the button for around 10 seconds and then let off it will go into low 15 seconds later. Out is the same way. I guess i am just used to pulling a lever and its in.. I am gonna start a thred about the i.d. of the pipe used for the suspension lifts that RB made. unless someone wants to answer here. I want to make my own set but dont want to pull a strut just to measure it. So could someone tell me the I.D. of the pipe please? I am not gonna make these to sell just refuse to buy something i can cut out on my laser jet..Thanks for the info so far.
