2015 Ford PIU 3.7L
2015 PIU 3.7L AWD, PTU w/Cooler, Drain Plug & Temp Sensor (All Original)

History
120k miles. PTU started to have propane smell, replaced fluid + vent, drove around 600 miles, started leaking at Silicone Seal at the PTU cover right onto the exhaust. Removed PTU & Exhaust etc.

Condition
Tore apart PTU, everything looks great, some rollers in the bearings were difficult to move, but after Brake Cleaning them out they are smooth again. Gears have normal contact wear, no cracks or pits, there are metal shavings, but it came from an interesting Spot/Spots.. For lack of the proper name I'll call it, The Idler Gear Bearing Spacer Notch or the spacer itself.. I'll have to post images.

Question
I want to know if I can spot weld, or JB Weld a new notch to prevent this spacer from going in circles like it has been to save the Idler Gear OR is this a free upgrade with the Spacer Spinning freely?

I'll get better Photos in a couple days, after it gets a good clean. New Seals all around are on the way... Or should I send them back? $170 is much cheaper than $1500+ for a New PTU.

Update: The photos don't show the 1-2mm sticking out, anyways I mashed the Idler Bearing to the Ground.
