Ok, so i have done some searching around on the site here for info about the 4wd systems in the explorers and how they differ from the rangers. I have a friend of mine who has a 2000 ranger with the PVH set up, I was wondering if it is possible to set up his system like that of the explorer. Would this just be a matter of changing the front wheel bearing assembly and possibly the CV half-shafts? What ever engineer at ford that came up with PVH needs a welcoming to the world of dirt and use.. What A F's Idiot he must be.

btw this is prob helpful. is a 2000 ranger 4.0, 1354 electric t case, with 4:10 gears, Im unsure if is an open or l/s right now.

Thanks Guys..

You can switch it to the Explorer setup (Ford actually did just that midway through the '00 model).

You could also just get a set of manual hubs for it too (AVM makes a set for PVH Rangers)
