Pushrod help?!

so im doing head gaskets on a 97 ohv, well i never marked the pushrods from where they originally were! how important is it to get them in the exact same spot? Thanks
 






The reason to replace the pushrods in the same location
is because they are 'worn-in' to the rockers and lifters.

Since they'll be replaced in different positions, wear
might be accellerated. Not much to be done anyway
at this point. Be sure to apply assembly lube or a
dab of grease on the tips when replacing them.

A cardboard box bottom with holes punched into it
makes a good holder for pushrods. That makes it
easy to keep track of them as to cylinder and top/bottom
of the pushrod.
