Put a Mountaineer Driver Information center in an Explorer

Can a driver information center from a mountaineer be put into a 95 Explorer?

This is what I am talking about:

Also, can the Climate control be used? and the steering wheel controls?

Trying to see how I can make my explorer better.

Did it already have them? Is this pic the vehicle they are coming out of? I don't think they will work if its a '98 or later Mountie. I have installed both of these in my Ex. Fun projects! Do some searchin though. I got most of my info that way.

My truck never had them. I got many other options, but not those. This is in a truck in the junkyard near me, and I was thinking of grabbing them when I was there next.

The sports were not offered with them, only the Limited and Eddie Bauer models came with those 2 systems but can be swapped over to your sport just search and you will find a write up or 2 on them because there is a guy with an XLS that was doing this conversion and did a write up but pay attention because there are certain years that apply to your year that will help make it a little easier.

oh, ok. that makes sense now.

What I am looking to do once i get the starter fixed (G*dd*#m top bolt) is get the autodimming rear view mirror, and maybe add the autolamps. Will have to seatch for the writeup on this. I also would like the Climate control and the Information center if possible, although the climate control is not necessary. I also like the steering wheel better, but unsure if hte airbag systems changed over the years and how that would affect me.


Are there any other nice Convenience features that can be picked up from other vehicles? A sunroof would be nice, but I am not going to cut my roof if I don't have another reason to.
