Python remote fob replacement programming?

Is this a factory remote fob? Python 474P fob. Lock/unlock/remote start functions.

I picked up a couple of remote fobs to replace the one that came with my Explorer.
Is there a different trick to programming these?

My understanding is.
1. Turn on/off 5 times ending in ON position.
2. Press button on replacement fob.
That should set the new remote fob. So far...I've had no luck.

I have a Viper on my Mustang. I replaced the fobs after
buying the car and reprogramed as per Viper. Try this
as per their instructions....


To re-sync the remote control simply press the transmitter several times within range of the vehicle.The alarm will automatically re-sync and respond to the trans-mitters normally.

Thanks for the info.
I was able to find the program button under the dash.
Not 100% sure which steps I used because I was trying a few different ways and during one of the steps I heard the alarm in clicking program mode.
Got one of the Python remotes programmed.
