Q about jbl/aftermarket adapter for new head unit

I have a Sony head unit which I am trying to install in my '95 explorer xlt+. I know I need some sort of adapter in order to make the new head unit plug into the existing wiring. I have been able to find plenty of these, but they all say they don't work if you have a back-seat radio tuner (which I have). Does anyone know of a JBL-to-aftermarket adapter that will work with a backseat tuner, or is there another way I can do this besides rewiring my whole damn car like the guy at circuit city said? any help would be appreciated.

I don't think there is any adapter out there that lets you use the rear controls....The front will work fine, you just lose the rear.

There is an adapter out there somewhere, but it costs around $100 and I don't think it's worth it. Although I also don't have very many back seat passengers and if I do, they wouldn't be controlling the radio anyways.

sorry i think my question was a little unclear - i didnt expect to be able to continue to use my backseat tuner, i could really care less about that. what i'm wondering is if the adapters that dont work in cars with backseat tuners will still function up front with the head unit. also, i'm pretty sure the stock amp is rated at 35 watts per channel, and the new head unit is 50watts x 4 channels. is the easiest thing to do just get a new amp?

The guy at Circuit City is right (woah, did I just type that?). The "backseat tuner" means that the tuner and guts of the head unit are stashed behind the rear quarter panel along with the amps and sub. The head unit is just a control unit. To my knowledge, there are no adapters that will work with this system. To be sure though, I'd give Peripheral a call. If anyone would know, they would.
