Has anybody installed Q Form Kick Panels in a '91 through '94? If so, where did you guys relocate the stock Ford Engine Control Unit? I would like to relocate the ECU anywhere besides underneath the carpet. Any ideas?

i have them. the ECU doesnt have to be relobcated. it fits behind the kickpanel. the only thing is that on the driver's side you have to slightly bend the parking brake lever. i used a pipe wrench and mad a gradual bend. you cant even notice. and it works fine. i use the parking brake a lot since i have a manual transmission.

What does a set of those run?

i think they're about $150. you might find them cheaper online...

Leenjen: What kind of speakers do you have in the kick panels? I had a set of these panels in my old Ranger, and my MB Quarts would not fit without relocating the computer. I am assuming that since the entire front end of the explorer looks the same, that the speakers will again interfere with the ECU.

how long ago was that? Q-logic changed the shape of most of their kickpanels about a 1.5 - 2 years ago.
i have Audiobahn 5.25" componets in there. and the baskets and magnets are pretty big. they look like small subwoofers.

It was about two, maybe three years ago

I bought some about 6 years ago, and used Blaupunkt 5.25 component speakers, and I did not have to relocate the ECU. I dod have to 'modify' the parking brake lever.
