it has leather seats, a billt in sub woofer, a tape/6 disk changer and a remot starter ands runs like a champ. guy i bout it from said his insurence did not want to pay out to fix it i mean it is just for the damege in the pic.i mean thats not a lot there nothing under neath just the bummper, head lights one fender and a grill and adjust the hood and no frame dameg

The thing in the first pic is the remote start receiver module. That usually goes above your rearview mirror.

The second box I believe is the communications unit for a Ford factory cell phone.

Third- not bad. Looks fixable for sure! Great deal for $300...

I would have had a mint Mounty front end (see below) if it wasn't a clunker. It was crushed one day after it was killed at Borgman Ford under the Cash for Clunkers program.

"I would have had a mint Mounty front end (see below) if it wasn't a clunker. It was crushed one day after it was killed at Borgman Ford under the Cash for Clunkers program" ya any car in that program can not be sold for parts so no junk yard for them strat to the crusher. kinda of a shame some of them cars and suvs are good looking to and can make good parts cars

Only the powertrain has to be destroyed, they can still sell the body panels and such if they want too. But it sounds like most yards are just crushing the entire thing.

They are- none of the cars around here in the program are going to yards to have parts pulled. The yards don't want them, so they're just crushing them.

I find that hard to believe. I deal w/ a lot of yards and they are all loving this program. Any idea why they wouldn't want them?

well some places are poring in this stuff in to the engines and tranneys to ruin them so they dount put them on the black market. that and the gov. is trying to take all the non mpg freindly cars off the road. thoust in return making it harder to find parts for older cars

They make the most money out of the drivetrain. When they can go to auctions and buy one smacked in the rear or just minor damage, they buy those rather than take the "clunkers" because they've got limited space, and better return from the auction cars even though they have to buy them.

I'm not saying that in your area they're not recycling them, but in West Michigan, I work in the transportation industry along with towing- and none of the towing companies here are hauling the cars to salvage yards- they're all being crushed with the exception of two Expeditions, which the scrapyard in question bought an engine and drivetrain that Valley Auto Parts had in stock and plopped in- and resold the vehicles. Great plan, no? ;)
