Q's on sway bar

When I installed my lift, I couln't run the shocks with lifted rear springs, so I took off the sway bar. Recently I decided to move the upper shock mounts out, and install the rear sway bar with the extended links that I bought, but while installing realized that the sway bar seemed bent. My question is both sides supposed to be the same as far as being even? Anyway, decided to do without for now.

Here's a pic of my sway bar. I think 1st gens are the same, right?

I looked at the pic, and no they are not the same, bu tit looks like both sides on yours sit flat to the ground, mine won't do that.
