I'm looking at maybe buying my 4th Ex. Wanted to know if there's anything I should look for before I buy it, there are 2 07's both with the 4.6 & 100k miles that have all options on them. I'm already planning on doing cat back exhaust, cold air, tune,& throttle body, is there anything else that's an easy bolt on that I should look at? The 4.6 is all new to me, have had two 4.0's & the 5.0 I have now that I'm giving to the kid. Have loved all my Ex's & the Bronco's I've had over the years, thought about getting a newer F150 or Raptor but decided to save some $ on truck & be able to buy some toys like guns,ATV,guns, boat & guns, maybe some more guns too LOL.

t body and CAI will pretty much waste money and lose power... the tuner might be able to get some of it back or gain a little but I would avoid it since its a heavy slow truck .... look at the tstat housing, radiator and the lines going front to back if it has the aux heat.... depending on how the lot takes care of their stock if it has low coolant it could tip you off on any of these common leaky parts that go bad often.... you cant check the transmission fluid for color or smell... no dip stick/ sealed trans

My experience was with the V6 4.0. Radiator's a major failure point in that year. Replaced mine twice. Job is certainly doable but a major PITA as there is no wiggle room.

With a flashlight look on the fan side of the rad for tell tale white streaks running down from the top corners. It leaks just enough to go throw coolant but usually not enough to leave a puddle anywhere.

There is a TSB for a TC being thrown on the tranny but it's actually condensation from the A/C running down a hose and dripping onto to a sensor on the driver top side of the tranny. Easy fix is placing a "shield" on the sensor. The shield is a rubberized stick on patch.

Bullet proof otherwise in my opinion. Even the accident that wrote mine off did very little damage compared to the sob who swerved into my lane. He spent a few days in hospital, I banged my knees on the underside of the dash.
