Question about a solid axle swap.

Im new to this whole thing im just now starting to get into the whole 4x4 stuff. I have a 1996 explorer and i was wondering what kind of axle would be best for a solid axle swap?

Check out the Offroad Ranger project area tons of people doing it to 2nd gens,
But a Ford Dana 44 is the most popular swap, use 76-79 F150 4wd , u will need to change rear axle then to match the width.

You can also use a Dana 30 out of a Jeep like I did on mine. It isn't as strong as a Dana 44 but I only paid $150 for mine. Really, anything that has the pumpkin on the driverside would work.
