There is no head unit that can put out 50 watts by 4 channels...that is just marketing.

Most head units will put out between 16-20 watts....no where near 50 watts.

That alpine amp you linked is very good...efficient and good quality. It will make any speaker sound 10 times better than head unit power.

After I finally externally amped my door speakers I will never go back to head unit power again....HUGE difference in quality and dynamics. Also sound deadening will gain you A LOT.

Right now my door speakers are only getting about 25 watts but from the amp but compared to the head unit the sound is MUCH MUCH better and clearer...dynamics are a whole lot better also...well the 3 layers of deadener on my doors helped a ton.

According to Pioneer, it allows 50 watts total. That is 12.5 watts to each speaker. So if they say 50 watts x 4, does this mean 50 watts to each speaker?

Not only I am leaning for clearness, I am aiming for loudness because with my 2 12" subs, it over powers the speakers.

that is still a weak 12 watts to each speaker. Don't ever look at the 50x4 ratings...those are fake made up numbers to get people to buy the units.

You still need to deaden around the speakers and add an amp if you want them to be hear with the bass. No head unit will be heard over a decent substage.

Deadening can gain you a significant amount of sound and head room.
