So after seeing in a few places that the new ford recall does include the 95 explorer, i went and looked up the rest of the recalls for the 95, and am wondering to my self if they had been performed on my vehicle since i am the 3rd owner.

How do missed recalls apply? Does they apply only to the first owner, or for the lifetime of the vehicle? I understand that TSB's are only free if the vehicle is still under warrenty, but what about actual recalls?

Thanks!

P.S. is there a database that they record if they have performed a recall on a vehicle, so i can see if any had been performed on the explorer?

When you enter the vin # of your vehicle, you will see a list of whatever needs to be recalled. It doesn't matter who the new owner is since it is still a recall. Check my recall, and TSB thread: Dead Link Removed

Is there a mileage limit on recalls? I heard somewhere that no recall will be honored if it's >100k miles. Is that true?

I've never heard of that. When I entered my Vin # on those links, they showed me a list of recalls, but don't ask for any mileage information. You could ask a dealership if it matters, but I don't think it would, since recalls are usually related to safety (like vehicles catching fire due to ignition switches, and cruise control pressure switches).
