I have a question about some seats. 1 in particular. Does anyone here have a leather covered Eddie Bauer seat that has the leg extension on it? I bought a pair of powered bucket seats that are real nice, but they are cloth. I want to change them to leather but was curious if the dealer has the seat covers for them or if there was ever an animal like that made in leather. Cn you show me a pic? Please.
Thanks

In case someone is wondering, I have nice leather Eddie Bauer seats now, but I am going to 4 buckets instead of just 2. So I got these seats at a nice price, but don't want cloth and leather, just want all leather. The cloth seats are fully power too and are some very nice seats, but would be much nicer if they were leather. I can get the leather Eddie Bauer covers from Ford if they are available for this type of seat. So that is why I am asking if anyone has a leather seat that has the leg extension option on them and what year are they?

My '93 EB had the powered seats with the pullout leg extension on them. That's what you want to know right? Has a handle underneathe the front part of the seat that can be pulled out like 3 inches or something. Basically just collected filth if not pulled and cleaned regularly.

I have some in my '96. Not EB, but they're leather.

It's mainly the bottom part I am interested in. The top is where it says eddie bauer and that is a common part. Does the bottom part of your seats have that little perforated hole in them?

Also I notice section525 that one of your future mods is to put buckets in the rear. That is what I am in the planning stages of now. Not worried about too much except for the recovering the cloth seats part. I will put those up front and my original 2 buckets in the rear. Do yall have any pictures of the bottom parts of those leather seats?

Yeah.. I was thinking about the rear bucket thing. But when I test fit some back there.. it seemed like either you can to sacrafice rear seat head room or leg room to get them to work.

Here are some fresh pictures for you:

Dang, I didn't know Explorers had that. My uncle's Bimmer 330i has that and its a godsend driving stick for me with long legs, I get thigh support. Wish mind had it.

Thanks section525, that is exactly what I needed to know. The reason it was so important is because the Ford guys don't always give you the most divided of attentions. They may say "NO" that part doesn't exist. So now I know that it does exist and I know in what vehilce the part came from. I was hoping that someone with a 98-01 would step forward and say they had these same exact seats as you with leather. That way I would know what the latest year model I can give them is. I think Ford only carries parts 10 years back or something like that. So those bottoms may be discontinued by now, I hope not. Also, on the note of your rear head room and leg room, you say then it is not a good idea then to do the mod? I always have someone riding with me rather it's to the golf course or the ball games. I was hoping it would be about the same in height and leg room. Were your seats fully retracted down when you did the measurements? But then again, I guess it wouldn't matter. If they don't fit, they don't fit. Bummer to the 200 degree.

Well I may have some seats for sell before long if they won't fit in the rear. That was my whole intentions on getting them. They are super comfortable and I wanted to use them up front and move my front seats to the rear. But section525 says I will lose head adn leg room. I can't afford that.

Well don't let me prevent you from doing it. I happened to tear out my whole interior one day just to see what it would look like.. and before I put everything back in I decided to play around with the whole rear bucket idea.

From my 5 minutes of playing around looking at it.. this is what I saw would happen:

But I know one other person (at least) from this forum as done this.. but I'm pretty sure they were aftermarket race seats.

OK, here is an image I got of the floor area. I can see now where the rear seat goes that it won't work. There is a hump that the rear seat bolts to. I never thought of it until now. So I guess it won't work. Darn!!
