if the tires and rims are the same size. ex: 31x10.5x15 will fit on a 15 inch rim. 31x10.5x16 will fit on a 16 inch rim. your explorer will have no problem clearing the over sized tires. they might only rub a little bit when you turn the wheel all the way. this topic has been discussed many times before, and for quick answers, you can usually use the "search" feature located on the controll bar at the top of this window. thanks alot.....the wheels that i want to put them on are 15 x 8.

That doesn't matter in the least. A lot of members are running 31x10.50s on their stock 7" rims, an 8" will be good up to 33x12.50 or comparable sizes.

yea i know all that but i was just wondering if they will fit without major rubbing..or would i have to lift my X a bit??

i asked the same question a few days ago. 31-10.5-15 will not rub .

somebody with this fitment tell me this:

if shocks bottom out, will 31's hit the fenders or plastic?

On stock rims you'll most likely just rub plastic. If you have aftermarket rims that stick out farther you may rub metal.
