Hi,
I made a video of what happens when I try to start my engine, My main concern is if the engine is seized?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmlB6ul9IlI

Some extra info.

I have the car now for two months, but last week I turned the a/c on for the first time and after that I noticed a coolant leak, I saw some dripping of coolant on the passenger side in the front of the engine.

Then when i drove away after 100 meters the engine stopped and it wont start up again.

-I tried 2 different batteries, 1 from my volvo, which works fine on my volvo and is strong enough i guess, 72 ah 640 cc.

Any info would be appreciated:)

try getting a jump from another vehicle ,if it still doesnt turn over ,get a socket big enough for the crankshaft bolt (inside the main lower pulley)and put a breaker bar on it .
now try turning the engine by hand(in the direction of rotation) ,if its seized you wont be able to turn it .

another thing you can try to is to remove the spark plugs and see if the starter can turn it (theres no compression now to hold it back)
if it can then its not seized .

i suspect if it was running fine until you turned on the a/c that its not seized up ,unless you overheated it??

its takes a pretty size-able failure to seize an engine .like loss of coolant, then overheat it to the point of no return .

loss of engine oil then drive until it stops working .

you could simply have a weak starter .good luck and report back

you can also try removing the serpentine belt and see if the engine will spin (by hand or with the starter). i've seen vehicles that have a power steering pump, or other peripheral device, lock-up and the engine wouldn't turn over.

Pull the plugs out before you try and start it again. If you had a coolant leak the head may have lifted and flooded the cylinder with coolant.

The engine may be Hydro-locked.

If it is you may bend a rod trying to start it.

I tried to turn it by hand today but my socket was not deep enough to reach the bolt, so i ordered a new socket today and hopefully it will be here tomorrow.

First i will try it the easy way without removing the sparkplugs because it seems quite difficult to remove them.

Thank you all for the advise:)

do this first. i to have seen a power steering pump lock a motor up. the reason why i also say this is because if you end being able to turn the motor with a socket with no belt on it, you can then start by trying to turn each pulley to see which one is locked up, and go from there.

Are you sure it was coolant that was "leaking"? Front passenger side is where the condensation drain is located. Every car will drip with the AC running, except when the humidity is zero or its 10 degrees outside.

Is the radiator level different, drastically, from the time when you bought the car? You did look, right?

If its seized, its always possible to un seize it, but the engine would be damaged permenently.

if the engine will not turn over by hand, and you do have evidence of a coolant leak, it is possible that you have a cracked head, or blown head gasket, that has allowed coolant to fill a cylinder. when this happens you get what's called a hydro-lock condition, which can even bend a piston rod. the best way to confirm, or eliminate, this condition is to remove the spark plugs and try to turn the engine over. if coolant squirts out, you have your answer.

Hi all,
Just wanted to give an update, the engine is not seized:)
I will further investigate what the problem is.
