Mercury Mountaineer 2002
New to here, surfed around and found a lot of good tips. Million thanks to all!

I got misfire and I want to replace all the plugs and coils. I read this thread:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=248208&page=2
and now I have basic idea how the work should be done.

But nobody mentioned how they can reach the plugs/coils on the left side of the engine, esp. #2 and #3, these two are completed buried into lots of wires and tubes. Do I have to remove those tube and wires to reach these plugs?

Your advice is highly appreciatied!!!

Studied the posts and followed them to change spark plugs and coils. Have put on 230 miles already, 18.6mpg, runs smooth, no SES light, no shaking, I am happy. I did not change #2 coil and spark plug because it is hard to reach, will do if misfire happens on it.

Had Midas fixed the broker flange in mid range pipe. I was told it is weldered so I have no way to do it myself. Cost is $150.

108,000 miles now, hope it can go another 50k.
