05 ford explorer 4.6L
Ok here it is. I have a 2005 ford explorer 4.6L awd. I have the famous humm!!!
I found a rear differential out of another 05 explorer supposable. The numbers are the same except for the last number. My number is RF-1LZW-4025-BA 11. His is same numbers except 9 instead of my 11. Does anyone know the difference?

Not sure on the difference in part numbers but an explorer IRS 8.8 diff is pretty much the same across the board. The only real difference is the ones that have traction control. The VSS isn't in the diff anymore, the hole has a dummy plug and the tone ring isn't in the diff since the are on each axle shaft. Traction control vehicle don't like limited slip diffs either. The VSS sensor and gear ratio should be your only concerns. A limited slip in a traction control vehicle will still work just the traction contol will rather quickly wear out the internal clutches until it operates like a standard diff. Physically any IRS explorer diff will bolt in.
