Ok so after reading the forums and diary/companion diary about 2-3 flare I am almost positive I have to do the rebuild of vb because I have a 98 explorer 4.0 ohv. However I read about adjusting the bands as well and attempted however couldnt get to the front because there were things blocking so I was wondering how people reached it especially with a torque wrench. Also it looked like it was slowly leaking trans fluid because the pan was dirty/oily but no fluids on the ground. I was wondering also if the 2-3 flare could be caused by the pan gasket leaking instead of the epc sensor/other gaskets or a clogged trans filter. Just trying to pinpoint a cause before I go ahead and order all the parts as I am new to working on my car. Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks
