I recently went with the Cobra-Rs with Pirelli Scorpion Zero 275/55/17s. Since then, I've noticed my gas mileage has really suffered, from about 15.5 mpg before to about 12-13 mpg now. Has anyone else experienced this much of a drop off in fuel efficiency? The only other power mod I have is the K& N drop in filter.

I'm thinking that with the increased surface area of the wheels, mileage has suffered some, and when you couple that with the fact that I've been driving more aggressively since I lowered my X, that's what makes up for the lost mileage.

Any suggestions for bumping my gas mileage up? Cat-back exhaust?

Also, has anyone taken their Cobra-Rs and 275/55/17s up to the snow? Can we still fit chains on the tires without them hitting parts of the wheel well?

Thanks in advance,
Logan

well, i can tell you one thing, if you get cat back exhaust, you will definately see a difference in MPG. im back to stock now because i couldnt take the noise from my system(s), but when i had it (i actually went through 3 systems, heh) i saw my gas mileage increase a lot. i was getting an extra 50 miles or so per tank! good luck.

I have not noticed any difference after the wheels. It probably has the most to do with your driving style. ALso, make sure your tire pressure is up to snuff, cause that will make a difference.

I was hoping for a MPG increase after my SVO headers but I don't think it changed much. We'll see when I do my exhaust.

I haven't noticed much of a change after my cobra's...I'll keep a close eye on it and get back to you later.
