Quick 96 Explorer 5.0 Check Engine light

My check engine light came on today I have a 96 Explorer 5.0 V8. How do I scan it? autozone or I have a handheld scanner I got from advanced auto will that work? Is this obd1 or obd2? please help thanks

Use an OBD II scanner.
Some autozones scan your codes, the ones in my area do not.
