All right guys this probably a stupid question, but anyway. I have a 1994 XLT and I haven't pulled my wheels off yet. I know that my front brakes are disks, but how about the rears? Are the disks or drums? If they are disks, where can I get some nice slotted or cross drilled rotors?

I beleive they are drums.

I think that 93's and 94's have rear discs. I think Ford switched to discs and 4 wheel abs. You could always look through your rims to see. That is a pretty easy way to find out. Performance Products has a lot of brakes and such.

i got a 93 4 door xlt x and rears are drums. you can see then through the rims

'91-'94 are all rear drums from the factory.

Four wheel ABS was standard from '93 on.

Thanks guys,
I'll have to take a peek in the morning to see what I have. I'm hoping that they are disks because I'm going to be putting some rims on and I don't really want to see the drums.

I can pretty well guarantee you have drums. But a disc brake conversion is a pretty neat project and you can get all your parts from a junked 95+ Explorer.

I'm sure that you have drums. My 94 Sport has drums.. I was hoping for discs as well, but I'm not that fortunate. hehe i was really wanting discs the other day when I had to change the shoes on the drums. :shoot:
