Just ziptie them so they rest close to the filter. Besides that, don't worry about them.

Ok this is a very dumb question but I dont know what else to do. I unhooked my negative battery cable to install it and now when I try to hook it back it does nothing but spark and smoke. Help an idiot out here.

And if you let it spark a bit and just connect the darn thing and leave it there?

I don't see the question... but I've got one: What is the rubber ring that came with the kit? All I did was take out the old air box and bolt on the new filter. Nothing else. I don't see a place for the rubber thing.
