I would prefer not to have to cut into a wire harness or wire to a specific spot in the fuse box. What I'm trying to do is run constant power to the seats using the same concept that most people use for their AMP/SUB set ups. However, most people I see use 4 gauge with a 60 amp fuse, which is powering 500W AMPS.

What I would like to do is hook up a 12 gauge wire with an inline fuse (unsure of the size that I would need) into the cabin. Once in the cabin, I could spit that wire in order to run power to both the driver and passenger seat and then ground them to the chassis.

Would this work since they are not heated? I mean I would think logically it should work since it's just power and ground.

Or... Alternatively, I could run the 12 gauge wire straight into the cabin, split it and run 2 x 25-30 amp in-line fuses to each seat? I know they need a minimum of 25 amp, but is that for the pair or individually?

Why would you run it directly to the battery? It's much easier to tap into the fuse box.

I'm not an electrically inclined guy. I couldn't find any actual picture write-ups of how to install them. Just before and after pictures, with the occasional wire diagram that I just don't understand. I was trying to dumb it down to something I can understand and accomplish with literally a ratchet and some sockets.

Throw me into a rebuild or a diagnostic and I'll do at least half decent, but tell me something about electrical and I'll completely muck it up from just sheer lack of experience.

Despite no answers to my initial question, I decided to just go ahead and attempt it. It worked fine for both seats and they work fine.

14 Gauge Wire to a 30A in-line fuse to the chairs.

Chairs to a ground.

Done.
