While I browse the explorer ads, is there a certian model that has the V8? A lot of the ads do not even say v6, so, i'm lost.

Only the 4-doors had the V-8 available. If it's a 2-door, it's a V-6. (It could be one of two V-6s, but a v-6 none the less)

Hmm, doing a little reading, is only the EB and Limited that have the V8? If so, is that the only option for an engine on those models?

I know some of the EBs had the 4.0 and it was the SOHC not the OHV motor. I believe all the Explorers that are 2wd will be the 4.0 motor.

You could also consider a Mountaineer. I think most of them are the AWD V8s.

crazy, not even an EB or Limited for sale in my area.

The V8 was availible with 2wd also. The V8(5.0) came in XLT, Eddie Bauer, and Limited trim levels and was introduced in 1996.

Someone correct me if i am wrong but AWD was introduced on '97 Eddie and Limited models.
