I was wonder is all 02 Explorer Limited don't have sunroof because mine 02 Explorer Limited don't have sunroof. I look at 03 Explorer Limited they have sunroof. Is sunroof pretty useful sorry I ask such a dumb question.

From what I understand it depends on whether you have a 3rd row and rear air/heat. I have an EB but I was told it was sunroof delete because of the above mentioned options.

I drove my first rental car with a moonroof (glass sunroof) in vegas in 2000, so it was a must have when I went looking for my mountaineer. I won't buy a vehicle without one now (unless it's a convertible), although this series has a SMALL one, compared to other vehicles' moonroofs.

I have rear air/heat and 3rd row seat, probably you have entertainment package (I don't) that's why sunroof is deleted.
It's useful to brighten up the interior (made it feel wider inside) but I think it's something you could do without. I rarely open it during driving because it creates a resonant sound inside (maybe a wind deflector at the sunroof will eliminate)
You could also open it up a little bit (one setting) during summer when in parked to reduce hot air.

Yep, get a wind deflector for your moon roof. I have wind/rain deflectors on the side windows as well as the moon roof/wind deflector and it will block any wind made sounds inside the vehicle while the windows are open. The deflectors come with double sided rubberized tape and you just clean the area for install and peel the protective strip off and press into place. I love driving in summer with the moon roof and side windows open. No need to use the AC unless it is a ridiculously hot and humid day. BTW, I have 3rd row seats but no rear heat or AC, yet my Ex came with a moon roof. Just a tip for anyone interested and who has a moon roof, clean out the dirt and debris from the moon roof window slide tracks and re-grease the slide tracks with white lithium grease yearly. Helps keep them working properly.

You can do that as long as you don't have the vinyl seats like mine has. I did that last summer on a hot and sunny day and nearly burnt the back of my legs off when I got in it wearing shorts after it sat for a few hours. Totally forgot about direct sunlight and vinyl. If you are going to leave it open a little to cool it down some, make sure to close the inner privacy panel as far as you can to block most of the sunlight from hitting the seats, especially if the time of day is around 12 noon. You can also throw a towel over the seat cushion for added protection from the sun.
