Hey folks,

Just wondering if I need to do anything before removing the back left tensioner... Wouldnt there be pressurized oil pooring out? Do I need to drain oil before proceeding?
Same question goes for the 00M12 tensioner...

PS> I have the 1996-1999 Ford Service Workshop manual, VERY USEFUL has full diagrams and instructions for literally any part of the car...
If anyone is interested I can send them a copy on CD if you are willing to cover postage (under 5$)

The tensioner won't have any pressurized oil if the engine isn't running. Just some small amount should leak out. No need to drain the oil first. Same applies for the front tensioner.
Do you mean 1996-1999 service DVD? That's what I use since the 98 CD won't run on vista 64.

Hehe yeah the DVD, I said CD so people wont think its like an instructional video... I've had much help from users here so hoping to do the same!

One more question while thread is still up...

What is the best way to clean out all the carbon buildup in the upper intake tubes, as per image below... Thanks!

I've used carb cleaner - spray can type. Believe it or not water is a solvent for carbon. Soaking overnight in hot water should loosen a lot of the carbon, soapy hot water should help with the oil residue.
It's a nice thing your offering to send out the DVD to members here. I'm sure many could really use it. Way to go.
