QUICKLY! SOHC on first Gens?

I'm helping out a friend and she has a 94 I think explorer with a V6 engine. COuld it be SOHC? Or is it pushrod? She needs to get the correct thermostat. Where can I find clues as to what engine is inside her Explorer?

I could be wrong, but I'm about 90% sure the 94 explorer only had 1 engine and it is not SOHC.

Yes. The SOHC didn't appear till 97 I believe. All 1st gens are 1 engine only.

No they are not.

Motorcraft RT1160 for the 97+ SOHC and 95+ OHV, 91-94 RT1161 for the OHV

1st gens only had the 4.0 OHV, '97 was the first year for the SOHC.
