Hey guys,
R1Concepts is having a sale on their ebay auctions. 10% off plus free shipping. Now I know this name from a couple of mustang buddies that swear by them. My question is this- what is a good pad to use on these? Ive always ran ceramics in the past, but I want something that is going to grip the rotor nicely. I also do not want to pay out of the @$$ for pads. Anyone have suggestions?

Hey heads up, when I bought my drilled and slotted rotors from them a year and a half ago(which are great) they included all 4 sets of pads. Look further in their auctions. I got all 4 rotors and brakes for around 3-350, if memory serves.

WoW, that is a really low price. I am assuming they are made in China for that kind of money? Not that it matters, the Brembo rotors I installed were made in Mexico. They were clearanced but nowhere as low as the R1 price. I went with Satisfied ceramic pads only because I cant stand brake dust.

The deal I got from them was too hard to pass up at the time and the pads were basically free. If did'nt like them, replacing them was'nt going to kill me. They do throw a decent amount of dust so I'm interested to hear some more responses. Are ceramic pads the way to go? I did'nt do any research yet.

If you want low dust then yes ceramic pads are the way to go.

I wanted to upgrade the Ford brakes after installing 33's. Also wanted less dust on the wheels. I can say the ceramics stop as good if not better than when the truck had 235/75/15 bicycle tires. I have been happy with them. Installed them on my Pathfinder also.

I have drilled and slotted rotors from R1, and they're great, i get scared when i drive other cars cus they don't stop as well as my ex. the only thing i regret is getting some semi metalic pad, they squeek if your just keeping your speed in check. next set will be ceramics almost indefininitally. but the rotors themselves are really nice, good luck

btw i paid 170 shipped for all 4 to my house.

i run these also and have run them in every car i have had and i love them, good people!!

Awsome! I see nothing but great things about this company! Good- this just confirms other things I read. Looks like ceramic pads are the way to go.

97sprt4x4- question on the semimetallics. Are these pads notorious for squealing? Ive installed some in my girlfriends v6 stang (cheap wagner wearevers) and they squeal to the high heavens.

Some squeal and some don't, it all depends on the compound of the specific pad used. my hawk hps pads squeal a little every now and then just kind of randomly it seems.

Just a quick heads up; if you're looking for the slotted rotors, we can supply them for you as well OR any other patterns you wish ;)

just a heads up Kit Davis is the one that helped me with the two different rotors for the first gen and was very helpful, ive been recommending you guys for a wile now!good guys and a great business?:thumbsup:
