I just got my RA Bushings from carparts.com. The rep told me which set I needed, Moog #K8746. I've read that the bushings look like a mushroom with a hole drilled down the middle. These sure don't look like that. It is a 2 piece design which allows for caster adjustment and a bushing lock that goes between the 2 pieces when the correct caster setting is obtained. I've never heard anyone mention a design like this. What do you guys think?

Blaine,
Here is a picture of the radius arm bushings you can get from most standard autoparts stores (checker, cragen(sp?), autozone etc).

I have heard of Radius arm bushings that will allow you to set the caster but I have never seen them.

Mark, thanks for the reply and the great picture. Now my curiousity has really been stoked. Why would I need the adjustable camber bushings? My Explorer is as stock as it gets except for holes in the airbox.

Anybody out there?

You shouldn't need adjustable bushings unless yu are trying to corret a problem. i suggest you get the non-adjustable ones.

Rick,
Thanks for the quick reply. Here is the deal. I already have the adjustable ones right here. Says they are adjustable from 1 degree neg to 1 degree pos. I guess that they can be set at 0???? If they will work, I might as well keep them. What do you think?

I tried a set to adjust my caster ( I didn't have enough). The trouble is that they wore out quicker than the stock ones.

I would go with a set from Energy Suspension if you can get them.

Thanks Rick. I really don't know what I want to do now. I hate to have to pay to ship them back and a restocking fee. The bozos at carparts.com sure haven't done anything to earn repeat business from me.

Anybody else have an opinion?

I dont know about your bushings, but when the frame shop replaced my bushings, they also had to replace the camber or caster bushing ( I dont remember whch one) to get it aligned properly, so maybe the set you got would elminate this need to change that bushing.

The adjustable camber bushing installs over the balljoint stud.

The adjustable caster bushing installs at the end of the radius arm.

One doesn't affect the other.
