There is this really open highway, long stright stretch 3 lanes wide and I am sitting at the red light and this BEAUTIFUL orange camaro pull up. I was drooling like mad! The hood had cut outs so the 2 filters it had could stick out. The guy caught me staring at it and gave her a few revs and it made a crazy hiss, He said it was Blown too. He gives it a few more revs and me, being the smartass that I am popped the auto tranny in my little '03 Toyota Corolla(company car) up into neutral and revved her up as a joke. The guy cracked a smile b'cuz he knew I was joking but I guess he wanted to show off his ride a little more so when the light turned Green he Walked on it. The front tires were about a foot and a bit off of the ground as he takes off down the highway and out of site. It was awesome. Wish our 69 catwalked.

So you really didn't race him. More like watched him smoked you. :D

smartass:D

Sorta makes ya feel a little something in the pit of your stomache when that happens, doesn't it!!!

Man i love to see other peoples fast cars...........Alomost as much as i like to see mine. But man some of those older muscle cars are just so beautiful. In my mind they are a completely diferent animal than todays muscle cars. More class i would have to say. But todays muscle cars have more power than yesteryears muscle cars for the most part. The whole better design and more efficient engine comes into play there.

I find it hard to believe it had a blower with two filters sticking out. Underhood blowers (centrifical) would require f.i. and usually a cone type underhood filter. Roots type would stick out of the hood. Unless it is a roots straight mini blower like the B&M, which can take a carb. but I've never seen a mini blower take two carbs and two filters.

Didn't want to come of yelling, just like to see pics. This reminds me of 2F2F.

I have seen twin tubos stick out of the hood of a car but i havent seen many twin filters sticking out. Well actually i havent seen many of either. Was this at night or what? Cause it may have been twin turbos. Just a thought.

Well i had to hear him over the sound of his BEAUTIFUL engine idling, but I am positive there was 2 things sticking out of the hood and am 90% sure they were filters(what else would they be?). And when I asked him about the hiss he said "That's the Blower...". And that is all I know. Sorry if it doesnt make sense I dont know my stuff all too well but that is what I believe I saw. Any suggestions on what it may have been would be appreciated.....

well a blower can be classified as a turbo or a supercharger. So who knows. They were probably steer horns sticking out. You know like you seen on Dukes of hazard and Cannonball Run. If i could find a nice set of Texas longhorns i would JB weld em to mah truck too. yeehah!

a 6-71 isnt very tall, and wont stick out of the hood much on an old Camaro if its a small block. if you heard the whine and saw 2 breathers sticking out id say it was blown (supercharged). now, an 8-71 on a 454 will stick out pretty good.... ;)
