i think it looks sick on your truck just i use mine and mines lifted so.... i left mine on. but it looks clean. i would do a light coat of niteshades on your taillights and rear brake light. i don't think you should have any issues with cops and tinting your taillights because some of the new vehicles have smoked taillights as a factory option(evo 10 is one of them). then take off the polished tip and put on a tip like this one. a little bit expensive but would finish out the blacked out look.

he has the magnaflow catback and the tip is welded on.

oh yeah and don't spray the reverse tights and you should be fine. idk looking at the picture of with and without the rack i think i like it better with the race. without the rack it looks like its to thin. i don't know how to explain it

Also, that bottom pic w/o the rack... the poor mounty looks like a ****ty Benz ML.

nothing a saw couldn't fix i would buy the weld on rbp style tip or even a clamp on. just cut off the other tip spray the pipping with high temp black paint and put the rbp tip on

lol dude, I just sat there looking at that last pic going "that looks so familiar" and then it dawned on me that it looks like the 1st gen ML... I hate the 1st gen ML with a passion.

well whatever you wanna do. a vw and a mountaineer are 2 different things. the vw has a kids image the mountaineer could be a old man or soccor mom.

Looks good, but I like my roof rack. Have found a use for it many times. Tied a 12' long 2x4 to it the other day.

it is quite a bit quieter on the highway.
my paint is coming off on the edges so if im gonna keep the rack off ill fill in the holes

Nice Getta! I was into vdubs a while back when I had mine. I would still like to get another one someday....Very nice car! And mountaineer! But personally id put the rack back on.
